What Staff are Reading
Peggy just finished...

Girl Waits with Gun by Amy Stewart
The events retold in this wonderful novel are based on an actual New Jersey court case from 1914. Constance Kopp, the heroine of this historical suspense-mystery story, refused to be cowed by a wealthy bully, who harassed her unmercifully after he deliberately ran into her buggy with his automobile. Constance had the gall to expect him to pay for the damage. She also defied her own brother, who expected the "girls" in his family to behave like good little women and to accept that men know best in all situations. I recommend it highly for fans of True Grit by Charles Portis or Mary Holmes in Laurie R. King's series.
