Be sure to visit the Library's booth for story times at 11:30, 1:30 and 2:30. Listen to seasonal stories and do a spooky craft. All ages welcome.

Other events feature an interactive Kids Zone, a cookie contest, an Idol contest, pumpkin painting, pumpkin bowling, a moon bounce and slide, story time, a puppet show, face painting, a historical scavenger hunt, a community arts project, and games and activities. Business and civic group tabling.
Food will be sold. Rain date is November 1st.

Join artists of Wye River Designs to embellish an over sized wooden clothespin with a decorative pumpkin that you can paint and mosaic. Then use it to display your best artwork. Please register at calendar.qaclibrary.org

Cooking for Kids

Rob Glass, a KIHS teacher, leads "Cooking for Kids: Easy No heat Recipes for Kids and Parents." November 2 theme is fall snack mix with spiced cider. Please register online at calendar.qaclibrary.org 

Making Bioplastics 
Friday, November 6 from 2:30 to 3:15 p.m.
For grades 2 to 5
In this activity, students make a simple bioplastic from cornstarch. They will learn the advantages and disadvantages of bioplastics and how we can make use of our natural resources. Students will also learn about the many other uses of our corn crops. Presented by Queen Anne's County 4-H. The Boys in the Boat by Daniel James Brown 
The non-fiction book is about the University of Washington eight-oared crew which represented the United States in the 1936 Olympics in Berlin, and narrowly beat out Italy and Germany to win the Gold Medal. This is your last chance to take part in the 2015 One Maryland One Book discussion series.

Afternoon Book Club
Thursday, December 3 at 1:00 p.m. 
The Tiger's Wife by Tea Obreht is set in an unnamed Balkan country, in the present and half-a-century ago, and features a young doctor's relationship with her grandfather and the stories he tells her, primarily about the "deathless man" who meets him several times in different places and never changes, and a deaf-mute girl from his childhood village who befriends a tiger that has escaped form a zoo.
