Heritage Quest (ProQuest)

Join in on the fun of this newly forming book discussion group which will meet the 4th Tuesday of the month beginning at 6:00 p.m. at Annie's Paramount Steak and Seafood House in Grasonville.

For Kdg. to 5th grade
In this LEGO engineering challenge, create a safe and fast LEGO car for your egg driver.  We'll race our creations to see which cars reach the finish line first without cracking the egg driver. Supplies provided.

Read to Rover 
Tuesdays, April 7 & 21 and Thursdays, April 9 & 23 from 4:00 to 5:00 p.m.
For Kdg. to 5th grade
Read to a dog from Pets on Wheels to develop reading skills and confidence. Please call to register.

Read, sing, play, write, and talk about a different theme each week. On Arpil 23 we welcome the Office of Oral Health for dental health story time with dental care goodie bags for each child.  


STEM Saturday: Project Easter Egg

Saturday, April 11 at

Participants will work in groups, using the engineering design process, to create a protective container that will prevent an Easter egg from breaking when dropped from a certain height. Dress Your Doll

For ages 7 to 12

Intro to Coding

For grades 1 to 8

The library is receiving Finch Robots in May! In order to program them, we're offering introductory coding classes using Angry Birds, Frozen, and more from code.org. Use the library's iPads or bring your own laptop/tablet.

BLAST Babysitters Class 
Monday, April 27 from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m.
For ages 11 to 17 - This training program is for potential teenage babysitters.
The training is designed to last 3 to 3.5 hours. We will also take a brief dinner break. The library will provide pizza, drinks and a fruit/veggie side, or you may bring your own meal/snacks. Please do let Ms Julie know of any food allergies. Please register online using our new  events calendar.

BLAST BABYSITTERS CLASS (AAP - American Academy of Pediatrics/taught by Keep the Beat Training)
This 3-4 hour training program is for potential teenage babysitters. The BLAST! (Babysitter Lessons and Safety Training) program provides training in pediatric first aid, household safety
, and the fundamentals of childcare. In addition, this course helps prepare children to interview for a babysitting job, select safe and suitable games and activities, prevent accidents, perform first aid and CPR, and begin babysitting safely and competently. Topics covered include: feeding, burping a baby, 
spoon-feeding, crying, and preparing for bed, behavioral problems, and discipline. This is a fun class, with baby manikins to diaper and feed! Pocket guidebooks will be included and you will be awarded a certificate of completion.
