I Am Malala: How One Girl Stood Up for Education and Changed the World
(Young Readers Edition) by Malala Yousafzai and Patricia McCormick
Malala felt like a regular schoolgirl, squabbling with her brothers and trying to keep her grades up... until the Taliban barred Pakistan's girls from attending school. With bravery and determination, Malala spoke up for the educational rights of schoolchildren everywhere and was shot by the Taliban. She writes about her recovery, limitations, and gratitude after the shooting. Malala remains an international activist for girls' education and is the youngest person to be nominated for a Nobel Peace Prize. Malala tells her story with author Patricia McCormick, known for her social justice novels for young adults.
