Photo Contest

The Queen Anne's County Library is running a Father's Day Photo Contest. Submit a digital picture of fathers with their children doing library related activities. This includes, but is not limited to: reading, crafting and computers. The more creative the better. Subjects can be young children, adult children, even grandchildren with their grandfathers.

Old pictures can be scanned and submitted electronically. Need some help? The library's copier can be used as a scanner at no charge and staff members are always on hand to assist. File size cannot exceed 2MB. Multiple entries are allowed, but entrants can only win once.

Three photos will be selected and winners will receive a $15 gift card to a local hardware store. The photos will be featured on our website and Facebook page for one week. Entrants must sign a photo release.

Submit photographs from now until June 13th. Our first photo winner will be selected on May 30th.

Send your photos to [email protected]

The tour not only highlights the beauty of the gardens but emphasizes their importance in a biodiverse landscape. The seven featured gardens range from the library's seven-year-old rain garden, created to address storm water runoff, to gardens several generations in the making.

I've Got Your Number by Sophie Kinsella

I've Got Your Number by Sophie Kinsella is as fun and frothy as Kinsella's other books such as the Shopaholic series. Poppy Wyatt has lost both her phone and her engagement ring in one afternoon. Luckily, she finds a working cell phone in the trash. Not so luckily, it belongs to high-powered businessman, Sam Roxton and he doesn't quite appreciate her interference in his personal life.
