Author Roland Reed
Wednesday, March 26 from 12:10 to 12:50 p.m.
Something About Maryland Lunchtime Program
Local author, playwright, director and sculptor, Roland Reed, will talk about his first two books. His adult novel, The Driver and His Wife, is about love and gang war in the roaring 20's in North Carolina and the changes it brings to a young couple. His young adult selection, The Odyssey of the Young Dragon, is the exciting and dangerous adventures of a Chinese teenage girl and her younger brother who are taken by force to a distant city and dumped. Like Odysseus, their great challenge is finding the way back home. He will also answer questions about the process of writing and publishing in today's market. Bring a lunch to eat while you learn. A sweet treat will be provided by the library.

Food and Farming: A Conversation
Sunday, April 6 beginning at 2:00 p.m.
Introducing the Broadcloth Digital Snapshot Stories and a screening of the documentary FRESH
FRESH is more than a film, it is a reflection of a rising movement of people and communities across America who are re-inventing our food system. Encouraging individuals to take matters into their own hands, FRESH is a guide that empowers people to take an array of actions as energetic as planting urban gardens and creating warm composts from food waste, and as simple as buying locally-grown products and preserving or freezing seasonal produce to eat later in the year. A discussion and sampling of locally grown foods will be available for tasting after the film.
Milkweed for Monarchs with Jim Wilson
Thursday, April 10 from 12:10 to 12:50 p.m.
Something About Maryland Lunchtime Program
Due to changes brought on by humans, fewer and fewer monarch butterflies survive to winter over in Mexico each year. Jim Wilson will talk about why we should all be including milkweed in our gardens and how this plant is vital to the survival to monarch butterflies. Bring a lunch to eat while you learn. Dessert will be provided by the library. Seed packets will be available to take home.
The Husband's Secret by Liane Moriarty
Thursday, April 17 at 7:00 p.m.
Book Discussion Group
Imagine your husband wrote you a letter, to be opened after his death. Imagine, too, that the letter contains his deepest, darkest secret - something so terrible it would destroy not just the life you built together, but the lives of others, too. Imagine, then, that you stumble across that letter while your husband is still very much alive...

If you like medieval mysteries or historical novels this is one of the best I've ever read (and that is saying something, because Kathleen has read A LOT of books). You will be amazed at what Geoffrey Chaucer was really up to.
