Deborah is reading...

The Redeemer acclaimed Norwegian mystery writer Jo Nesbo's brilliant, but flawed hero - police detective Harry Hole - continues to battle personal demons while skillfully solving a series of current murders related to two disparate 1991 events:  the rape of a fourteen year old girl at a Norwegian Salvation Army summer camp and the brutal outcome of a battle during the war in Yugoslavia. Full of unexpected - often tragic twits, this thrill holds the reader's attention by combining interesting background on both the Salvation Army and the War in Yugoslavia with good old fashioned story telling.

Thursday, February 20 at 7:00 p.m.
Book Discussion Group
Reclusive author Vida Winter, famous for her collection of twelve enchanting stories, is ready to reveal the truth about her extraordinary existence and the violent and tragic past she has kept secret for so long.  Calling on Margaret Lea, a young biographer troubled by her own painful history, Vida disinters the life she meant to bury for good.  Margaret is mesmerized by the author's tale and together, Margaret and Vida confront the ghosts that have haunted them while becoming, finally, transformed by the truth themselves.
