Beaten Buscuits - A Maryland Tradition
Thursday, August 8 from 10:00 a.m. to noon
Beaten biscuits have been a tradition on the Eastern Shore of Maryland since the early settlement days. Linda Kautz of Orrell's Maryland Beaten Biscuits is coming to the Kent Island Library to discuss the history of these unique biscuits and demonstrate how they are made.  Participants will be able to work with the dough and attempt to roll a beaten biscuit of their own.  Please call 410-643-8161 to register for a session - each session is 30 minutes long.  Registration is required for participation.

In 1943 Nazi-occupied France, a British spy plane crashes. On board are two friends, a pilot and a spy. The latter is soon captured by Nazi authorities, detained in a former hotel, and forced to write a confession detailing the British war effort.  Through her confession, she tells the story of her friendship with Maddie, the pilot, and the saga that brought her to France in the first place.
