Bird migration is one of the magnificent spectacles in nature. Billions of birds are already on the move or getting ready to move. All you need to do is open your eyes and ears to watch them. This discussion will focus on some of the different birds that make their way into or thru Maryland. Bring a lunch to join the presentation and discussion lead by Jim Wilson, coach of the Kennard Elementary School Birding Team. Jim claims not to be the best birder in the world, but loves to help kids (and adults) be aware that there is a world out there worth watching outside of video games and television.

Dearie by Bob Spitz
Julia Child's story is more than the tale of a talented woman and her sumptuous craft. It is also a saga of America's coming of age and growing sophistication, from the Depression Era to the turbulent sixties and the excesses of the eighties to the greening of the American kitchen. Julia had an effect on and was equally affected by the baby boom, the sexual revolution, and the start of the women's liberation movement. |
