Saying Goodbye to Prince
By Josh Blanc
As a young teen growing up in Vermont, this wild musician from Minnesota opened a window to the world of creative opportunities for me. Apparently I was not alone. Prince's music inspired me and a generation of kids to push beyond the limits and dare to be ourselves.

The outpouring of love seen throughout the world for Prince's music, his many talents, and his image is a testament that art can touch us deeply. Prince put Minneapolis on the map and drew many creative people to our city. The Northeast Minneapolis Arts District owes its very existence to his legacy. There is not an artist I have ever met who does not hold the desire to impact people's lives. Prince did with his work, both on and off stage. He embodies the superstar in all of us. We will miss him greatly.

Three Main Goals
of Arts District Planning

1. Continue to discuss who we are as a community.
2. Continue to define the vision of the next 10 to 15 years, in order to drive the decision making.
3. Start a framework on how we can finance the goals of the district. This goal is only possible to discuss if the other two goals can be met.
