- Plan to attend one of our three Adult Sunday School Classes this Fall!
- All classes meet at 10am.
James Island Presbyterian:
Informed by the Past, Discerning the Future
This fall, all adults are invited to meet in the Fellowship Hall to travel through 310 years of church history here on James Island. Each Sunday will feature a repeat of the preceding Wednesday night's presentation. We started with Dr. Richard Cushman's presentation of the history of our denomination, the Presbyterian Church (USA), and our presbytery, Charleston Atlantic. We were sorry that our recording did not broadcast well for Sunday. This past Wednesday, Doug Oswald reviewed our history through the years leading up to the Civil War, and he will offer that information again this Sunday, during Sunday School. Next Wednesday (and again Sunday, Oct 25), Doug will survey JIPC's history after the Civil War. Later, we'll have a special panel presentation from lifelong members of living history here on the island. In addition, we will take a tour of our campus and hear from members of our sister churches. Finally, we will look to the future with a presentation and discussion led by our Vision Team.
Calling All Parents! Join us in the Faith Builders Class
We are building our faith, our homes and our careers together as we enter new stages of life. This fall, we are studying Kara Powell's Sticky Faith Guide for Families and discover ways to help our children build faith that lasts. We meet in Room 303 on the first floor of the Christian Education Building.
Contact Cameron Smith (843-795-3111, x.203; or email here) for information about these or any other Sunday School question.
Join the Disciples Class as we walk through Acts with the first Disciples! We are committed to developing biblical knowledge, coming to deeper theological understanding and growing in our faith. This fall, we will continue our study of the book of Acts. Our class has members of many ages and stages of life including singles and empty-nesters. We meet in the church café in the Fellowship Hall. Contact Nancy and Kenny Tassin for more information (843-795-0407 or email here).
