Daddy & Me: dads and their elementary and preschool-aged children are invited to spend the afternoon together with a tour of the Isle of Palms Fire Department, followed by a provided picnic lunch at the IOP Recreation Department. Meet us there at 4:00 pm, or ride the bus leaving the church at 3:15 pm (if requested). Contact Duncan Meadows for more information.

Presbyterian Women's Birthday Dinner: Join us for a time of fellowship, giving and growing in faith! We'll begin with a potluck dinner and a baby shower for HALOS, our local ministry to foster children. Help us stock the HALOS nursery with Gerber Good Start formula, diapers, wipes, baby shampoo, wash and lotion. Danya Jordan from Proverbs 31 Ministries will be our speaker and will share words of encouragement to help us shine God's light in the midst of life's transitions. All women are welcome! Nursery is provided, or send your family to the Daddy and Me playdate at IOP!

Youth News!

  • Holy Grounds meets once more before breaking for the summer. Mid & Senior High youth are invited to join in this fellowship and devotional time at 7 am at the Folly Road Chick-fil-A - and we'll even buy your breakfast! Final gathering for this school year is May 24.
  •  The next Flag Football Saturday will be May 21, from 10 am-12 noon. All ages are invited to join with us in some friendly competition and fellowship on the field across from the church on the Ft. Johnson side.
  • On Saturday, May 28 from 9:30 am to noon, there will be a family work day with James Island Pride, a town outreach that provides free yardwork to neighbors in need of assistance. We will leave from the church parking lot at 9:15 am, to meet the coordinator at Town Hall. This is open for youth in 5th-12th grade & is a great project to do together as a family. Contact Duncan to sign up by Sunday, May 22.
  • Summer Kick-Off: Join us on Sunday, June 5 in the sanctuary during the Sunday School hour for our 2016 Summer Sunday School Kick-off! All of our youth and children's classes will share what they learned during the year, and we will be introducing our summer theme, "Fruit of the Spirit," and distributing Summer Bible Challenge packets. See you there!

IT'S TIME TO UPDATE THE PICTORIAL DIRECTORY, AND WE NEED YOUR HELP!
Did you know that we have a secure online pictorial directory for members of JIPC? Did you know that there's an app so that you can  view it all on your smart phone or tablet? We do, and it is a great resource to help us stay connected as a church body. We are currently updating the directory in preparation for our 2016 print edition, and we need your help. Please follow these easy steps to help us out:
  1. Visit the directory by installing the "Instant Church Directory" app on your smart phone or tablet or by visiting www.instantchurchdirectory.com. Use the email that the church has on file for you to log in. You will be issued a password to gain access.
  2. Check to be sure that your contact information is correct and that you have a photo on file.
  3. Email cameron@jamesislandpc.org with any changes or with a new photo.
  4. If you do not have access to a computer, contact the church office so that we can check your information and mail you a printed copy of the directory.
The updated directory will be distributed by the end of May. Thank you for getting us your correct information and photo!
