Florence Crittenton Home honors
JIPC mission team volunteers for their committed service!

As you may know, JIPC members travel to Florence Crittenton home once each month to deliver, serve, & share dinner and fellowship with the residents and staff. Pulling from Henry Meeuwse's letter to mission & outreach volunteers:
At the conclusion of our visit with the FCH guests (this past Monday night), including providing/serving dinner and playing a few LOUD and energetic "Uno" card games, we were totally surprised. We were saying our goodbyes, when the FCH staff told us (9 of us last night) to sit down. A couple of the young women came out of a side room and presented JIPC a thank you card and a very nice plaque...  Once again in authentic mission, what started with the intent for us to share the love of Christ and  to serve resulted in us being served.  What a touching time when the women gave us all hugs and thanked us for sharing our love with them and 'keeping our promise'. When asked, this meant that we are, apparently,  one of the few groups that visit when we say we are going to visit...and share dinner when we say we will provide it. Often, they apparently experience 'no shows.' (We) just want to thank you for the time you share, not only with FCH guests, but with all whom you encounter everyday or every week. What a privilege to share the love of Jesus and witness His grace. Thank you!

IMPORTANT NOTICE: The Presbytery-wide elementary retreat planned for April 30 - May 1 has been cancelled. There were not enough confirmed reservations to hold the event. We are sorry if you were one of those who planned to attend.
JIPC Music
Annual Youth Musical on April 24

Be sure to join us on Sunday, April 24 when our children & youth present this year's worship musical,
Life of the Party - the Story of Mary & Martha.

There are two more rehearsals: Wednesday, 5 - 7:15pm (we break for dinner between 6 & 6:30 - be sure to sign up for wnl dinner if you wish to share in that) AND
Saturday, April 23, 9:00am.

The musical will serve as the presentation of the WORD at both worship services on Sunday, April 24, 8:30 & 11:00am. We hope to see you there!

Drivers Needed!

We asked, and you have responded - many thanks to Ann Carswell and Elizabeth Tinga for volunteering for this ministry!
We still need more volunteers to take 2-3 shifts a month with Meals on Wheels. A shift involves approximately one hour, midday, and there are several options available.
Sky Keating coordinates this group of volunteers, some of whom work every week and some of whom work 2-3 each month. Volunteers pick up the meals from our church and deliver them to certain households on James Island. We've had several drivers who've needed to retire or take leave from their shifts, so we have an urgent need NOW.
Please contact Sky (843-870-6914; [email protected]) or Henry Meeuwse (843-795-3111, [email protected]) if you are able to help on a regular or substitute basis.
