Second Sunday ofAdvent
December 6, 2015

Greetings! ,

As we continue through Advent, we invite you to join us whenever and however possible. We have many activities and resources to guide your journey - and sometimes it can seem overwhelming. For these times, we also invite you to join us in prayer and worship and meditation. These quieter times can help us to settle and re-orient. You are always welcome to call - or even stop in - to ask for prayer. We also encourage you to spend time often with this year's Advent devotional. We have hard copies at the church, and you can also access it here.

We also encourage you to offer your condolences and prayers to the families of two of our members who have died in this last week. Gill Ellison died last Saturday, and his memorial service was held on Wednesday. Dennis Feltz died on Wednesday, and his memorial service will be here at James Island on Monday morning, 11:00am. Please keep Gill and Dennis's families in your prayers.

Praying for your joy and peace,
Your JIPC staff

If you would like to have more Christ and less chaos this Advent and Christmas season, now is the perfect time to try out one of our Adult Sunday School classes or Mid-Week Adult Bible Studies. Contact Cameron Smith for more information about finding the study and class that are right for you.

As hard as it is for many of us to believe, we are in the midst of our WNL Advent Series.

Enjoy making gifts for your friends and family and take a moment to sign a Christmas card for our service men and women and homebound members.

December 16: Christmas Pageant & Party
We will cap off our Advent Series as our cherub and children's choirs present the annual Christmas Pageant and share the Christmas story with us. Join us for the pageant in the Sanctuary at 6:00 p.m. followed by dinner.

Advent Craft Leaders Needed!
On December 9th, we will have another wonderful opportunity for children and adults to make gifts for our mission partners, their families, and friends. We need at least eight adult leaders per night to work in teams to help lead craft stations. All of the supplies will be provided by the church. Leaders are asked to help with preparing supplies, setting up, explaining, and cleaning up the craft they will lead. Please contact Cameron Smith if you are available to help.
