James Island Presbyterian Church
March 20, 2015
Greetings!

Tomorrow is the 9th Walk for Water, an event to raise funds and awareness for one of our mission partners, Water Missions International. Click here to learn more about the organization and the walk. There is more information about JIPC's team below.

This Sunday, we welcome Russ Blackwelder, M.D., M.Div., as our guest minister. Reverend Cameron Smith will be our liturgist. As we observe the Fifth Sunday of Lent, we will also be participating in the baptism of Piper Grace Fitzgerald, daughter of Matt & Kayla Fitzgerald. Later on Sunday, we will celebrate the life of long-time JIPC member Lyndal Ragon, who died Thursday, March 12. Her memorial service will be at 1:00pm in our sanctuary, with a reception following in Fellowship Hall.

Also on Sunday afternoon, we are honored to host the Charleston Music Teachers' Association Honors Recital. Several students of our church and congregation and will be recognized, including Linnea Ransford, Mary Kathryn Huddleston, Charlotte Downs, and Lane Copeland. The recital begins at 3:00pm, and all are invited.

We continue the session of Inquirer Classes, sometimes referred to as New Member Classes. The series of 4 classes is for our visitors and guests wishing to know more about James Island Presbyterian Church. Those wishing to join may do so during worship on March 29. For more information, contact one of our membership elders: Chris Crane or Ann Carswell. If you were unable to attend the first class but are still interested,  please contact Ann or Chris, or just show up Sunday morning. Make-up sessions may be an option.
