James Island Presbyterian Church
January 9, 2015
Greetings!

There are different gifts, but it is the same Spirit who gives them.

There are different ways of serving God,

But it is the same Lord who is served.

God works through different men in different ways,

But it is the same God who achieves

His purpose through them all.

Each one is given a gift by the Spirit,

To use it for the common good.

Together we are the body of Christ,

And individually members of Him.

I love this responsive reading, which we say at James Island Presbyterian for Ordination, Installation, & Commissioning Services. I hope it speaks to you as it does to me.

This Sunday, we will ordain and install our incoming elders and recognize our outgoing officers. Please join us. Reverend Cameron Smith will be preaching, and our scripture references are Genesis 12:1-4 and Ephesians 2:1-11.

In other news, your response to Cameron Smith's email on Wednesday, January 7, has been overwhelming and inspirational. Thank you.

You can visit our new, updated website for more information about any of our ministries. We will be adding even more information and pictures in the coming months, so be sure to check it often! If you would like to discuss how you might grow spiritually through the ministries of James Island Presbyterian Church, Reverend Smith and each of our staff are happy to talk with you. Feel free to call, email or stop by the church office.  In the meantime, we hope to see you Sunday as we commemorate the Baptism of the Lord and celebrate our officers.
