"Why, what's the matter,
That you have such a February face,
So full of frost, of storm and cloudiness?"

Vesper College

Da Vinci Restoration recently attended a sculpture class at Vesper College.

The class, Torching a Motherwell, explores the abstraction expressionists of the New York School.  The shop experience included using an oxy-acetylene torch to on an aluminum plate.

It was fascinating, enlightening, and very fun!

Who is P.A.?
Paul Allen.  Sports radio host at KFAN for 15 years, Minnesota Vikings play-by-play radio announcer, Canterbury Downs horsetrack announcer, and source of Da Vinci Restoration's entertainment from 9-12 p.m. every Monday - Friday in the Da Vinci Restoration shop.

Why does it matter?
DVR has been a fan of all things P.A. since he first started hosting his radio show in 1999.  He's incredible at calling Vikings games and just seems like a generally good guy.  So we were thrilled to randomly run into P.A. recently at the Mall of America.

After a brief chat, P.A. was kind enough to tweet the Da Vinci Restoration business card to his 23K+ Twitter followers.  Thanks P.A.!

Be sure to follow PA on Twitter @PAKFANVikes and listen to him every M-F from 9-12pm on 100.3 KFAN.

Weisman Art Museum
Weisman Art Museum, 1993
Weisman Art Museum, Minneapolis MN

Do you know this building?  Lucky for Minnesotans, it's right here in Minneapolis.

The Weisman Art Museum is located on the campus of the University of Minnesota.  The building was brilliantly designed by renowned architect Frank Gehry and was built in 1993.

The Museum has become one of the major landmarks on campus, situated on a bluff overlooking the Mississippi River.  Uniquely designed, the building presents two faces, depending on which side it is viewed from. From the campus side, it presents a brick facade that blends with the existing brick and sandstone buildings. On the opposite side, the museum is a playground of curving and angular brushed steel sheets.

Gehry's design for the Weisman Art Museum won him a prestigious Progressive Architecture Design Award in 1991.

If you're in Minnesota, go see it!
