Greetings!

We've already reached the mid-point of the calendar year and it seems to have gone by so quickly.  With that in mind, we encourage our clients that are on a calendar year fiscal year end to start thinking about any changes they may want to analyze for the upcoming fiscal year.  The next six months will go by as quickly as the first, so we like to get started on planning as soon as possible.

These changes may involve a new accounting system.  Larger companies should already be well into their system implementation for a January 1 date.  However, smaller companies should start their planning so that the implementation isn't delayed due to insufficient time to design and implement.  The holiday period takes up a good portion of the last 2 months of the year.

Other companies may just want to consider some changes to their accounting structure.  It may be adding divisions or changing their indirect rate structure.  Whatever the case may be, it's important to plan this out in advance, too.  These changes may be more involved than they seem on the surface.  If they do turn out to be less significant, then it's one less thing on the to-do list at the end of the year.

Let us know if we can help with any of these decisions.  Or we can just be a good sounding board for some ideas that you've been kicking around.

Regards,

Laura Davis
