Letter from the Editor
I know it's only the beginning of October, but happy Halloween! We've been eating candy around the office, so I don't think we're limiting it to the holiday. Even though fall is here, it doesn't seem too different from the mild summer we had in Ohio this year! :)
We also have some new how-to videos. If you wanted to know more about creating Product Classes and Categories, these will be the right videos for you!
More updates to come in November!

Credit Card Integration in Dynamo
With Dynamo integrated credit card processing you do not need dedicated credit card processing devices or phone lines.
You can create a quicker and better customer experience and obtain the best rate by using a card reader when your customer presents a card in person. Dynamo works with the reader so you don't have to manually enter the card number, expiration date, or card holder's name.
Dynamo also protects your customers' data by never storing credit card information.

There are a few options for credit card integration with Dynamo. Briefly:
- If you aren't currently accepting credit cards, you can open a Merchant Account with one of Excellware's credit card processing partners, First Data or Authorize.net.
- If you're already accepting credit cards, ask your Merchant Account representative about credentials needed to process transactions in Dynamo using First Data Global Gateway e4 or Authorize.net.
- If you're already accepting credit cards and you have a Merchant Account, you may want to find out if opening a Merchant Account through one of Excellware's partners will save you money. Note that there may be an early termination fee with your current account if you choose this option.
Also note that First Data is no longer accepting new customers for the legacy Global Gateway. In that case, you must use the new First Data Global Gateway e4.
If you would like to learn more about these options, please view the Credit Card Processing page on our website. Each choice is explained in detail.

Bet you didn't know this about bar codes...
Did you know that the first time an item was scanned by a bar code reader was in 1974 in Ohio? And did you know that item was a pack of Wrigley's gum?
Bar codes have now become an important part of sale. They allow for improved accuracy and speed when buying, selling, and shipping items. Since the product can be easily identified by a scanner, use of bar codes also eliminates a significant amount of human error.
That's why Dynamo utilizes barcodes. We support UPC-A, EAN-13, CODE128, CODE39, POSTNET, and our own 6 digit codes. You can use Dynascan, the version of Dynamo used on handheld mobile computers/scanners, to scan items with any of those 6 bar code types.
