FEMA / FIRM On-line Maps

Please click here to access on-line the static new FEMA maps for the Town of Falmouth.

For those of you with strong computer skills, please follow these instructions.

  • Click here to access the interactive on-line preliminary FEMA map for the Town of Falmouth.
  • On the left side of the screen you will see three tabs:  ABOUT, LAYERS, FIND
  • Click on LAYERS
  • Tab down within LAYERS to the 27th box, Preliminary Flood Zones, click the box there.  You will know you've done this correctly if the map changes and shows the various colors, (zones) along the coast.
  • Next click on the tab marked FIND.
  • Three categories will appear under the FIND tab, OWNER, PARCEL ID, and ADDRESS.  I suggest typing in your last name, (please note this must be the last name that is registered with your property tax records).
  • On the right side of the screen you will see + and - which will allow to zoom out or in.  Also if you go back to left hand side of the screen and look at LAYERS, Preliminary Flood Zones, the color code will appear and help you to ascertain which, if any, flood zones, your property is located in.
  • As suggested if it appears your property is in a flood zone you can either consult a certified land surveyor and order your elevation certificate OR print the property map and make an appointment at the Town of Falmouth's Building Department to discuss your property.

The evening's presentation was jointly sponsored by the Falmouth Housing Trust, the West Falmouth Library and the West Falmouth Village Association.
