Please Join Us to Hear About our St. Marks Road Project!

The Falmouth Housing Trust will hold an informational neighborhood meeting on Wednesday, September 18th from 7-8:00 pm for those interested in learning more about the slated Affordable Home-ownership project for 761 Teaticket Highway & St. Marks Road. The meeting will be held in the Falmouth Public Library's Hermann Foundation Meeting Room on the lower level.

Executive Director Anne Connolly Saganic and the members of the Project Team, Christian Valle of The Valle Group, Michael Duffany of Duffany Builders, and local architect William Roslansky will be present to share project details and answer questions.

In 2010 Town Meeting declared the 1-acre parcel excess inventory and restricted its use for affordable housing. The Town issued a Request for Proposals in July 2012 to create three home-ownership units ideal for families. In October of 2012 the Falmouth Housing Trust was selected as the developer by the Town of Falmouth.

Make a Nomination for the Bruce Espey Community Service Award!

The Falmouth Housing Trust is accepting nominations for the Bruce Espey Community Service Award, given annually to a person who has made a significant positive contribution through their volunteerism and advocacy to the promotion and creation of affordable housing in the Town of Falmouth.

Volunteer and professional contributions can include advocacy, education, community and civic affairs, leadership, and charitable and non-profit programs and projects all related to the creation and promotion of both home-ownership and rental affordable housing. Nomination forms can be obtained here, or by going to the Trust's web page, www.FalmouthHousingTrust.org, or a hard-copy can be obtained by request. Nominations must be received by the close of business on Tuesday, October 1st. Letters of support may accompany completed nomination forms as deemed relevant by the person making the nomination, and often very persuasive when included.

The presentation of the Bruce Espey Community Service Award will be during the Falmouth Housing Trust's Annual Meeting & Reception, scheduled for Thursday, October 24th at 5:30pm at the Falmouth Yacht Club. The reception will include a cash bar, passed hors d'oeuvres, a raffle and short auction and live entertainment!

The Falmouth Housing Trust Board of Directors established the Bruce Espey Community Service Award, in July of 2009 following Mr. Espey's death.

In 2002 Mr. Espey became a member of the Falmouth Housing Trust and was elected to serve on the Board of Directors until 2008, when he retired from the board. During his tenure as a Trust board member Mr. Espey made important contributions to the Gerald Flynn House, a 7-bed supervised sober house owned and operated by the Falmouth Housing Trust, and managed through a contract with the Gosnold Treatment Center.
