Check out the mountain's water bugs and creek quality
Want to know more about our mountain's water quality? Like hanging out at the local creek and catching water bugs? Want your children or grandchildren to experience hands on science? - Then join local expert and Landcare member Lynn Churchill at a
Water Bug Monitoring morning
You'll use dip-nets to catch water bugs in Guanaba creek, identify the bugs using ID charts and microscopes - and learn from that about the creek's water quality.
When: Sunday 22nd March: join in one of two sessions, at 10am or 11am.
Where: Meet in front of St Bernard's Childcare Centre on Alpine Tce, between St Bernard Hotel and St Bernard State School. Parking is available outside the school. Take a short walk to the gravel road behind the childcare centre carpark, signposted by the Landcare sign.
Bring: covered shoes, hat, sunscreen, insect repellent and water bottle.
This is a great opportunity to learn about our all-important surface water quality while checking out the creeks' inhabitants most of us never see.
