Greetings!
TML wins Community Award

Tamborine Mountain Landcare has been awarded a Wright Community Contribution Award - an award which is "designed to shine a light on the unsung heroes of our community who volunteer their time making Wright a better place to live".

Our president, Judith Roland, accepted the award on behalf of Landcare at a ceremony on 6th November.

It's good that the work our volunteers do in helping enhance our mountain's natural environment has been recognised publicly  in this way.

Judith Roland accepts the award and a cheque from Scott Buchholz, Federal Member for Wright.

The shade house watering system has been installed and is keeping potted-on seedlings moist. Another bench has been erected outside the building for hardening off the plants.

Cornelia Meesters and Ann Bradley are taking the lead in the work of propagating local species.

Improving the site
Our newly designed native gardens have been mulched ready for planting and the bank behind the shed has been planted out for stability. Our contractor, Damien Draper, has begun removing weeds around the creek at the bottom of the site. It's good to see that the waterhole is home to a variety of creatures, including many tadpoles.

Regeneration and development work will continue at the site with the help of working bees next year. These will be held on the last Saturday of each month and members are warmly invited to join in. Look for more details in our next newsflash.
