  • Consider the style of the wedding: Was it a classic wedding, a beach wedding, Rustic vs. traditional? Most times the pictures will reflect the occasion's style, and in turn will sway your choice of frame.

  • Gifting a picture: It stands to reason that if your getting a picture framed for a couple it's usually best to keep things simple and neutral! Here's a clever gifting option for a wedding gift: framing the invitation!

After posting a link to our pinterest board about Helpful Hints it occurred to me that not once have I broached the subject of
Furniture Placement! Let's be honest, we all have beautiful furniture that we fell in love with at one time or another, but without proper placement, weeell it can start to look like this:

not proportional
Can you spot the issues?
  • The furniture appears to be disproportionate to the space, mostly because all of it is against the wall.
  • The rug, too small!
  • Placing the TV in a position that doesn't permit for easy viewing of our must see shows.
  • The pictures above the loveseat are hung too high and too far apart.

With that being said, here are tips on how to achieve amazing furniture placement to maximize your space:

1. Float something in your room, bring your furniture closer together to create conversation areas and more flow.

2. Rugs are used to define an area, so bigger is usually better! Click here for an in depth article outlining the rules and how to successfully break them with greatl results.

3. Don't be afraid to divide your space based on function, this is especially useful in those long narrow living rooms or for open concept spaces. For example, you might find yourself creating a conversation area via a sectional, lounge chair and coffee table and also include a desk area like so:

Multi Function Space

 or even something like this:

Long and narrow

The whole point is to create flow and above all else, a sense of comfort. I hope you enjoyed our tips, and if you have any questions don't hesitate to drop in for some suggestions!
