Into the looking glass...
jan | feb eNews
Hello,
Last issue we discussed the many ways we can work on our own growth. This issue we are polishing up those mirrors and checking on our progress!

The new year is a time for making new goals, so now a few months in is the perfect opportunity for us to take a quick look back and reflect. Most of the time we'd like to look only at the good things, but assessing the less fortunate occurrences is necessary to correct, realign and grow. Sometimes we can even be pleasantly surprised at how far we've come!

Friends and family can be great for giving us an honest look at ourselves (sometimes too honest....), but nothing beats the feeling of taking a real look at ourselves in the mirror and liking what we see!

So gaze deeply and come through the looking glass with us....

Tips from the Pro
"Behavior is the mirror in which everyone shows their true image or their conditioned self "

This quote pretty much sums up how a lot of people choose to live their life. Another way to put it may be: "Actions speak louder than words" or "Integrity is what you do when no one is watching."  I know it's definitely not all about appearances if you want to be a person others can trust and respect, but sometimes appearances can be deceiving. Pictures don't always tell the truth; a picture may look good, but that person could be in a lot of pain. It's about who you are and what you do, especially when you're overwhelmed with life and feel like giving up.

It is so very important to make time for yourself; to reflect and pray about what you've been doing and why. If you've had some challenges come up over and over, maybe you need to look back to see where they all started and how you can prevent them in advance or maybe you need to reflect on your life as a story to see if there is a pattern (one that might need changed).

Even if you're doing great, self-reflection is always important for being the best you can be. I wouldn't build a kitchen without a budget, plan,or goals and expect successful results! So, I encourage you all to take the time to self-reflect. Then you can make your outward actions more accurately reflect exactly who you were created to be! That's why -- for me -- it's important to know who I am and whose I am. Who I am is a Christ follower, whose I am is a child of God.

Customer Profile

We first met the Diesto's in September, 2013. They contacted us to remodel their master bathroom shower; transforming it from a step-down tiled enclosure to something modern and functional. Getting rid of their step-down was just the first step. It went so well that several months later they asked us to return and complete the master bedroom/bathroom retreat.

Ultimately, the master retreat was transformed from top to bottom. The new style reflects them through and through. Using a neutral grey and black color scheme to start with, every surface shows a richness and depth that has to be seen to be believed. Even looking deeper, the personal touches make this remodel truly special - the canvas artwork are pictures actually taken by the Diestos while on their travels to Paris (Moulin Rouge) and London (Big Ben & London Bridge)!

Floor to ceiling, everything is new - classic, with modern flair. We replaced the old carpeted floors with a beautiful Brazilian Pecan wood. That dark, natural look is mirrored in the Espresso Shaker-style cabinetry. The variegated visual texture of the wood is also picked up in the amazing details of the Carrara marble countertop and modern glass backsplash. This glass tile pattern then continues as the accent strip in the spacious and bright shower, complete with rain shower head for a final luxurious touch. Simply perfect!

Thank you to the Diesto's for entrusting us with this project! Looking back, it was great working with them and we're happy to have another beautiful bathroom reflect on us as well! Check out more photos on Houzz and let us know what you think!

Without reflection,
we go blindly on our way,
creating more
unintended consequences,
and failing to achieve anything useful.

In the Community
A couple months back, we teased a new project we were very excited about - our partnership with the Boys & Girls Club here in Fullerton for their new Junior Chef Program. All Pro has been a long-time supporter of this great group and now we're getting to work with them too!

Here's how the Club described this new service for the kids:

"Our club is committed to helping remedy childhood obesity and unhealthy eating habits plaguing our youth, by conducting a Junior Chef Program. This exciting, hands-on and educational program teaches nutrition, food safety, basic food preparation skills and an appreciation for the benefit of eating healthy."

We're big believers in healthy lifestyles (especially Paul) and we are also Pros in the kitchen, so we're really looking forward to pitching in on this one! Many local restaurants, such as TAPS, Olive Garden, Lomeli's, and others, will be providing chef instruction to the Club kids during the weekly culinary academy workshops in the kitchen All Pro Builders will assist in creating for them.

More details (and cute pictures of future Junior Chefs!) to come.....
