eNews   :   AUGUST 2013

Greetings!

In light of the recent coin controversy (removing 'In God We Trust' from the quarter), and expanding upon last month's theme, it seemed quite appropriate to talk about trust this month. Trust is the key to successful relationships of all kinds - whether it's with a friend, family member, co-worker or business you hire.

All Pro Builders knows that and makes it our number one priority. But it can't be bought and it can't be demanded. It has to be built step by step and it's very fragile. It isn't just earned once. It's earned every day with every action that we take, showing that we care and we listen and we know what we're doing.

Trust is probably one of the things we're best at building. So read on to find out who we trust, thoughts from team members on this subject, and more things we trust you'll find interesting!

Sincerely,

Paul Paniagua

Tips from the Pro
A name you can trust.

We all have those stores & brands that we just know you can trust: Nordstrom, Sears, Maytag, you get the picture. Our goal is to become one of those brands as well. We've been working for years under the motto "Honesty & Integrity" and word has gotten around - All Pro means caring, experience, and quality. Of course, every great team always has to rely on the best support system to back them up.

In our many years of remodeling Southern California, we've trusted some great companies to make the materials we need to make our clients' homes everything they ever dreamed of. Here are a few that really stand out for delivering when it counts:

  • KitchenAid - Since 1919, this homegrown company has kept America cooking with its quality products & warranty.
  • Cambria Stone - This "Made In America" manufacturer backs their countertops with a Limited Lifetime Warranty.
  • Kohler -  Still based in the town [Kohler, WI] where it began in 1873-enhancing trust in their merchandise guarantees.
  • Milgard - Great service & a stellar warranty helps them keep promises & customers happy.

With all of these companies, their good reputation in our minds is built on exceptional service to the American public over their entire history and also on very personal stories. Everyone has experienced the ways these companies have come through and helped make a house a home. So...how does our company stack up? When someone talks about one of those brands we mentioned, you know they're going to talk about quality, service and dependability. That's the thing.....when people find out about a good thing, they want to share it with everyone! All Pro's reputation has grown in the same way, through word of mouth from happy customers. The word most often heard about us is Trustworthy, which is the greatest compliment we can get.

We have often heard that we are one of the most trusted construction companies that you can hire. In an industry where that important piece is often lacking, we make it a top priority. Trust is a big word and it starts with building a strong foundation. We at All Pro do the best we can to train and mentor all of our employees because we know talk is cheap if everyone on the team isn't on board.

For my part, trust starts with the first phone call into the office and the initial estimate appointment. I meet with you in your home and you get to see what All Pro is all about. A customer can tell if we are only about the sale and not there to listen to their needs and wants. I've left appointments where I talked the customer out of what they wanted to do because I knew it just wouldn't work, but we had a great conversation and now they got some insight into how to move forward.

I told myself early on in my business that I would never sell anyone something they didn't need and we've stuck by that principle since the beginning. That is trust you can live by. We know that if trust is not built in that first appointment we don't have a chance to move forward in the project at all. And customers can see the difference and appreciate the respect we give them, even if we don't end up selling that job. They'll still probably tell their friends and family about us if our name comes up and put another building block in our reputation for being trustworthy.

So we'll keep using these values and principles to make your vision of a perfect home come to reality - just sit back and trust us to do a great job!

Top 10 Bedroom Design Styles
Did yours make the list?

Is it just us, or does everyone long for their own bed after a trip? Our safe haven...a cozy corner...a snuggly pillow....

Choosing a specific design style for your bedroom can transform it into your favorite space in the house. Here's some popular design styles to help you choose the one most appealing to you:

ECLECTIC  |  Use different colors, patterns & textures to create a cohesive look.

COTTAGE  |  A casual, inviting environment makes this a great style for guest bedrooms. An easy way to give a cottage feel is to repurpose items.

MEDITERRANEAN  |  Feature bold color and texture to create a one-of-a-kind look. A hand-painted bed & whimsical chandelier would represent the region's culture.

ROMANTIC  |  Soft hues & delicate fabrics characterize this style. An ornate headboard, silhouette bed pillows & white draperies would bring a feminine touch.

CONTEMPORARY  |  Think sleek furniture, solid colors and chic furnishings.

MODERN  |  Minimal design is the epitome of this style. Minimal furnishings and neutral color palette enhance the look.

OLD WORLD  |  This style has a luxurious, regal look. Wood ceiling beams, intricate wall sconces & textured walls are key design elements of the style.

TRADITIONAL  |  A spacious bedroom with traditional furniture creates a timeless look. Include dramatic bedding to complete the theme.

ASIAN  |  Elements might include a warm color palette, nature-inspired furniture and Japanese shoji screens--creating a calm, serene feel.

COASTAL  |  Muted colors & light fabrics are staples. Consider a striped ceiling treatment and bamboo ceiling fan to complete an ocean-inspired look.

Making Headlines
We track you down!

We've been exposed! Remodeling Magazine took an interest in our trusted method for keeping tabs on how everyone finds us.

Last month, they featured our lead tracking system. As with everything All Pro does, our lead tracking system is designed to keep our overhead low and our ears out for what customers need. It's simple yet effective and the Magazine thought other remodeling pros could benefit from taking a look at it.

We're always happy to share good ideas ..... and we don't mind the compliments either! Guess who got called a Marketing Guru? :) Read all about it here.

In The Community
Can you spare some change?

We have SPARE CHANGE (featuring Pastor Kirk Mackie on guitar) and they just happen to be the headliner for our fundraising event this Saturday September 7. The opening band will be RC Rock, making the evening a family-friendly event where all are welcome!

Join us at 6:00pm at Wilshire Ave. Community Church when the fun begins with a tasting menu donated by many of our local Fullerton restaurants (Heroes, Bourbon St., Cafe Hidalgo, Les Amis & many more).

The cost is $20 per person or $50 per family -a steal of a deal- and all proceeds will go directly toward the Water project in Colonia Noruega (our adopted village) in Zacapa, Guatemala.

We will be traveling there in November to build a well, along with refurbishing the schoolhouse, conducting Bible school and building their trust in us to establish a long term relationship to help the people and their families.

Even if you can't make the event, please consider helping our cause. Contact us with any questions you may have!
  • Pray for the team [starting now and through our preparations, travel and trip]
  • Sponsor the team [donations can be made to help send a team member and/or assist in the building of the well]
  • Ask us how you can help!

Building Blocks of Trust

Hi! My name is Chris Paniagua and I am All Pro Builders' Project Manager. I have been with the company 8 years (and been President Paul's nephew for my whole life). If you've worked with us before, then you've definitely seen me around. If you haven't, it's nice to meet you! I'm going to talk about one of the biggest cornerstones to a successful project - trust on the job.

As someone who helps handle the day-to-day operations in the field and out on jobsites, I know it is beyond important that we build trust with the customer from day one--which [as Paul stated] is when he first steps foot in their home.  Most customers then do their homework -- viewing referrals on both our website & others, such as Houzz -- before ever signing our contract. So they know from other's experiences that we are what we say we are. That's why we love to give out a list of past client referrals - we are proud of all our past work and have nothing to hide.

Starting on my end, this begins with a pre-construction meeting between myself and the customer(s). We have a meet and greet at the jobsite to go over any details of the upcoming project. At this meeting I make sure to explain how available both myself and the rest of the staff are for any questions and concerns at any given time of day. Letting them know how readily available and easy to reach we are helps them understand that we encourage and look forward to communication with them. Communication is key in building any trust. Getting them on board with that starts the project in the right direction before the first nail is even hammered.

Once all the talk is done, it's quickly time to show that their trust is justified with our actions. It's making sure we are on time and there when we say we're going to be. It's also making sure we keep them in the loop about the daily operations and upcoming schedule either by phone, text message, email, pony express and/or carrier pigeon.... whatever we need to do to make sure communication is open. In our case, we have worked hard and been blessed to have developed an excellent reputation in that regard.

There are many ways to gain trust and it's definitely an ongoing process that builds with everything we do. One thing is for sure, it's mandatory, especially when working in someone's home. I know that the whole team here understands what a big leap of faith a customer is taking when they invite us into their lives and entrust their home to us. I've been taught that trust, honesty and integrity are the most important things since day one at All Pro and I'm going to carry on that tradition as I grow with the company.

So, that's a little bit about me and what I believe. Check back next time to Chris' Corner for more inside info on the All Pro team!

Our exposure on Houzz is gaining in popularity apparently. The number of contact requests from our Houzz Profile have skyrocketed in the last several weeks. If you haven't taken the time to check it out, drop everything (well, maybe not--but you know what we mean) and take a peek!
