STAAR is now a requirement for 9th and 10th grade students in 2012-2013 with 12 end-of-course (EOC) exams that will count for 15% of the course grade and will be required for graduation. STAAR EOC exams will test the content for the specific course.
- Math:Algebra l, Geometry, Algebra ll
- Science:Biology, Chemistry, Physics
- English Language Arts:English l, English ll, English lll
- Social Studies:World Geography, World History, U.S. History

Performance Categories: Level III Advanced Academic Performance Level II Satisfactory Academic Performance ================================== Minimum Score-Represents the score needed for a student to be able to include his/her test score in the cumulative score required for graduation. A minimum score is a failing score! Level 1 Unsatisfactory Academic Performance Students scoring Levels II or III will meet EOC graduation requirements. Students scoring "minimum score" or Level I must retake the test until they reach a Level II or III. A "minimum score" can be used in the cumulative score required. A Level I score cannot be used in the cumulative total.

| STAAR Cumulative Score Requirement |
Depending on their graduation program, students will be required to meet the passing standard, Level ll:Satisfactory Academic Performance (or at least achieve a predetermined minimum score), on *twelve STAAR EOC assessments.In order to graduate, a student must achieve a cumulative score that is at least equal to the product of the number of EOC assessments taken in that content area and a scale score that indicates satisfactory performance (Level ll).For example, if the passing standard, or satisfactory performance, is 3500, a student would need to achieve a cumulative score of 10,500 (3 assessments x 3500 = 10,500) in each of the four foundation content areas.A student must achieve a minimum score on an EOC assessment for the score to count toward his or her cumulative score.A student's cumulative score is determined using his or her highest score on each EOC assessment within a content area.
