Ms. Perll Needs a Volunteer!
paperwork help

I am in need for a volunteer with a scanner at home and a bit of free time to help scan in drawings destined for "Images", our annual art and literary publication. The job will entail scanning in about 210 small drawings and organizing the files by class.

I am looking for someone to do this some time between March 13th and March 22nd. Please let me know if you are able to help out. You can stop by my trailer to talk or email me at [email protected].

I would really appreciate it. Thank you so much!

Jump Rope for Heart News

Jump Rope for Heart

Thank you to everyone that signed up to participate in this year's JRFH event.  Also, a big thank you to the families that have decided to raise funds for the American Heart Association.  The AHA uses these funds to:

  • Educate students on the importance of heart-healthy habits
  • That being physically active is fun
  • Support cardiovascular research and education in our community

On line fundraising is the most efficient way to help.  Not only is it simple for you but it helps me tremendously with the large amount of paper work.  If you are able, please use the online tool.  Just go to www.heart.org/jump   Make sure to register with our school.  If the online method isn't for you please turn all cash into checks made payable to the American Heart Association.  All correspondences should be marked with your child's name and class code and placed in the JRFH box in the Great Hall.  For families that are fundraising the donations are due by March 5th.

Students are now forming their jumping groups.  These forms are available on the JRFH display in the Great Hall.  These forms were due by today, Tuesday, February 17th.  There will be many students who do not sign up for a team.  I will group all of those students..

We are jumping on Tuesday, February 24th.  All students should be prepared with their sneakers.  PK, K and first grades will jump during the school day from 12-1:15.  Second -fifth grades will participate from 3:15- 5:30.  All students should be picked up at the gym parking lot entrance at 5:30.

We are looking forward to this year's event.  It looks like it's going to be a great day.  Thank you to the Lafayette community for your support of this community service project.  If you have any questions or would like to volunteer please contact Ms. McClure.  [email protected].

BALLET FOR 4-5 YEAR OLDS

Hello, My name is Daisy Blumenthal.  I would like to inform you about the new ballet class I'm opening. I have a few spots left in my class starting this week!  It is a beginner ballet class for 4-5 year olds.  We will have lots of fun and incorporate technique and positions. I am in Middle School at Alice Deal (I will be 12 in March) and have been taking dance for years in ballet and modern dance. I have a 5 year old sister in Pre-K at Lafayette Elementary and have done babysitting, and I am great with kids!

The ballet class will take place at my house two blocks from Lafayette Elementary School.  There will be an adult present.

Classes are from 4:15 - 5:00 pm on Fridays.  The first class is this Friday Feb. 20 and each session will be a month long, so we will meet 4 times. The price for a 4 week session is $25. Drop in classes are $8.  Drop in classes are only available the first two weeks. On the fourth week at the end of class we invite the parents to come in for a short dance performance.  Every week make sure your child is wearing a leotard and tights and ballet shoes (tutus are optional) for a girl and for a boy, they should wear a t-shirt, tights and ballet shoes.

Please email with interest.  Please use my mom's email:  [email protected]
