Hope Scheller and Laura Lindsley, co-presidents

Punxsutawney Phil saw his shadow, so we are in for six more weeks of cold weather, and possibly some snow?!?  Valentine's Day is only a couple of days away, and Presidents' Day is right around the corner.  For such a short month, February is a very busy one!

Are you ready for our annual spring auction?  The Rock Me Lafayette auction party is scheduled for March 28th. For more details, check out the auction page on our school website.

Your child should have brought home his or her report card this past Friday, so please search the backpacks if you have not already found it. Please sign the portion below the dotted line and return it to school.

Valentine's Day is on Saturday, but since school will not be in session this Friday, students will celebrate on Thursday, February 12th.

Have a great week!

Hope  and Laurie

Jump Rope for Heart News

Jump Rope for Heart

Thank you to everyone who has turned in permission slips.  We have over 450 kids signed up to participate.   We are now in the process of putting groups of 6 children together to form jumping groups.  The teachers will group our PK, K and 1st grade into jumping teams.  Children in 2nd-5th may create their own jumping teams.  The form for creating teams is located in the Great Hall by the JRFH display. The form should be filled out completely and put in JRFH box.  All directions are on the form.  There will be many children who do not sign up on a team.  That's OK.  I will make teams for those children.

Our fundraising portion of this activity is going very well.  We have over 90 jumpers signed up online to collect pledges.  If your family chooses to raise funds please consider using the online method.  It is more efficient and saves me numerous hours of paper work.  Just go to www.heart.org\jump   Join the Lafayette team when you sign up.

If online is not for you, please try to turn cash collected into checks.  Checks should be made out to "The American Heart Association".  All funds raised should be put in the JRFH box in the Great Hall.  Please make sure they are in an envelope with Childs name and class code.

Ms. McClure needs a baby pig.  Does anybody have access to a farm or organization that might have a pig they could lend us for a couple of hours?  If so, please contact me at school or at [email protected].

Dates to remember:

February 24th - We are jumping!

March 5th - Pledges are due.

Thank you for your support in this important community service project.  If you have any questions please see Ms. McClure, Ms. Perll or Mr. Jackson.

Have Infants?  Feeling Sleep Deprived?

Annika understands that sleep is an essential part of a child's physical and psychological growth and development.  Her aim is to provide parents with instructive, nurturing and individualized programs that will bring peaceful sleep and happiness to your child and entire family. She is a mother of three and the founder of Little Sleepers.  Learn more about Annika's experience and Little Sleepers here: http://www.littlesleepers.com/
