News from TMC Environmental
EMR Rating is 0.85

TMC Environmental is pleased to announce that our Experience Modification Rating (EMR) is at 0.85 as of April 21st, 2013.

This EMR reflects TMC's culture of safety. It is the result of our employees' ability to work in a safe and conscientious manner, resulting in a reduction in workers compensation claims to levels below industry average. In addition to savings in downtime and loss of work, the EMR also results in significant savings in premiums.

Slip, Trip and Fall Awareness
This month Don Houde, Safety and Loss Prevention Specialist shares tips for reducing slip, trip and fall dangers.
  • If you ever spill a liquid or see a spill, wipe it up immediately.
  • If you are mopping the floor, make sure to post a "wet floor" sign.
  • Watch out for uneven surfaces like asphalt, sidewalks, area rugs, ramps, walkways and door thresholds.
  • Watch out for slippery conditions in snow and ice.
  • Watch out for loose and frayed carpets and rugs.
  • Always wear approved non-slip rubber-soled work boots or shoes.
  • Never allow any material to extend outside of your work area safety zone.
  • After your work is done, clean up the scraps from the floor.
  • Always use handrails.
  • Never stand on the top step of a ladder, and use an assistant to hold the ladder if necessary.
