District Destination ImagiNation Teams Participated at Regionals, Advancing to State
Several schools from around the district sent one or multiple teams to the regional Destination ImagiNation tournament last weekend. The Ostriches from Neill Elementary placed first in the "Going to Extremes" category and will advance to state. Amazing Pancakes from Lakeview Elementary placed first in the "Laugh Art Loud" category and will also advance to state. Click here to read more about the other teams.

The Seven Dreams Inaugural Bird Bash was a Huge Success!
Thanks to sponsors and attendees, the Seven Dreams Education Foundation raised $27,000 at its first annual Bird Bash! These funds will help the learners of Robbinsdale Area Schools (RAS) succeed by funding innovative education initiatives that enhance individual skills and experiences.
Nearly 300 people attended the Bird Bash - community partners, civic leaders, RAS alumni, staff, parents and supporters - for a wonderful night of fun, games, dinner, live music and auctions. Click here for pictures from the event. Thank you for helping us make dreams take flight!
Adventure Club Summer Registration Starts March 19
Beginning March 19, families are welcome to register for the Adventure Club Summer Program. Registration will take place from 5:30-7:30 p.m. on March 19 and 20 at Sandburg Learning Center, 2400 Sandburg Lane, Golden Valley. Adventure Club Summer runs from Monday, June 9 through Friday, Aug. 15.

Gretchen Heath Honored with Lifetime Achievement
Award 
At last week's school
board meeting, long-time Robbinsdale Area Schools teacher Gretchen Heath was honored for the Dedicated Lifetime Achievement award she received from the Minnesota Educational Theater Association. Gretchen taught at Armstrong, Cooper, and Hosterman throughout her career. Congratulations, Gretchen, for receiving this prestigious award and for your years of service and dedication to our schools, students and the arts!

 Donald Wagner Passes Away
Longtime Robbinsdale Area Schools employee Donald Wagner passed away on Feb. 17. Hired in 1959 as an elementary school teacher, Donald then became an instructional assistant and in 1963, an elementary school principal. From 1963 to1983, he served as principal at Lincoln, Thorson, New Hope, Lee, Zachary Lane and Lakeview schools and as director of elementary education from 1983 to 1991. School Board Recognition Week
Robbinsdale Area Schools' administration acknowledged the school board last week for School Board Recognition Week.
