Cara Rieckenberg Receives MN Science Teachers Award
School of Engineering and Arts Program Coordinator Cara Rieckenberg was named the Elementary recipient of the Medtronic Foundation Science Teaching Award Presented by MnSTA for 2014. This award recognizes excellence in science teaching and is sponsored by the Medtronic Foundation. Cara has demonstrated excellence in the teaching of science, greatly contributed to science education, and impacted students. She is an exemplary teacher. Congratulations Cara!

An Update from Superintendent Sicoli About Weather-Related School Closings
We are still evaluating our options to possibly make up some of the missed instructional time. We value instructional time and take the loss of such time seriously and we will communicate any decisions on this as soon as possible. As you can imagine, the cancellations have raised some questions about how we make our decision, timing of the decision, and alternative options to closing. Cooper One-Act Play Advances to State Tournament
The Cooper One-Act Play won the 6AA Section Finals over the weekend and now advances to the State One-Act Festival for the first time in 29 years! Well done! The State One Act Festival is Thursday, Feb. 13 at St. Catherine's University. Cooper performs at 3:15 p.m.

 Marlene Melchert Passes Away
We are sad to share that Marlene Melchert passed away on Jan. 23. Marlene worked in the district for over 30 years in student services. Prior to her retirement, she worked in transportation. Click here to read her obituary.
