Robbinsdale Debate Success Continues at State Tournament

Robbinsdale Armstrong senior Andrew Urevig successfully defended his title to capture his second consecutive MSHSL Lincoln-Douglas State Championship on Jan. 17 and 18. Andrew becomes only the second student to win two state titles, and the first ever to compete in the final round of debate in three consecutive years. Andrew defeated Edina in the final round of debate on a 5 to 2 decision. Robbinsdale Cooper seniors Maddy Hillson and Amanda Halek finished as quarter-finalists in Public Forum debate. The Robbinsdale Debate team will participate in the national qualifying tournament at Chanhassen High School on Jan. 24 and 25. Congratulations again!
 
 
School Board member Patsy Green named to All State School Board
Robbinsdale Area School Board member Patsy Green has been named to the 2014 All State School Board, which is the Minnesota School Boards Association's (MSBA) most prestigious award. Green was recognized for the award during a luncheon last Thursday, at MSBA's annual Leadership Conference. Click here  to read more about the award.

Minnesota Zoomobile Animals Meet Lakeview Kindergartners 
Lakeview kindergarten students learned about a red-tailed hawk, a skink, a skunk and a tarantula when the Minnesota Zoomobile visited after winter break. State Representative Mike Freiberg was brave enough to be the first person to pet the tarantula! Click here to view more photos.
