Marching Hawks Present KA-BOOM
The Shady Oak Groove Society will bring on the funk when the group takes the stage at the Cooper Marching Band's "KA-BOOM!" concert this Friday.
A crowd favorite at last year's "Beatlemania" concert, the ten-member group is a powerhouse of Twin Cities musical talent. They will bring to the stage a musical sound and style steeped in the traditions of groups such as Tower of Power, Earth Wind and Fire, and Parliament-Funkadelic, coupled with the energy and excitement that only a group of good friends can bring.
Check them out at the "KA-BOOM!" concert on Friday, November 1, 7-9 p.m., at the Cooper High School Auditorium. WCCO television personality Jason DeRusha will emcee the event which will also feature performances by the Robbinsdale Cooper High School Marching Band and the RCHS Color Guard. All proceeds will benefit the Cooper Marching Hawks and their first ever band trip. Tickets are $10 each, $15 at the door. Seating is general admission.
