New Technology, New Era for Robbinsdale Area Schools

During the summer months, Robbinsdale Area Schools began seeing many changes in the way we use technology:

  • Staff converted to Gmail on July 1. To view information about Gmail and other Google Apps, click here
  • We launched a new website in our new content management system, Edline. Parents and students, there is no need to log in to our website. You will use Schoology to access classroom content.
  • Parent Portal change its name to Family Information Access.
  • Teachers, students and parents will begin using Schoology this fall.
  • All fifth graders will receive a Chromebook to better integrate with Google Apps.

On Tuesday, third-fifth graders at SEA heard from WCCO's Heather Brown about what makes a "Good Question." Brown reports the daily "Good Question" on WCCO-TV and explained how she identifies her questions, researches data and presents her findings. Students supplied Brown with their own questions to investigate.

Sonnesyn Students Stretch for KSTP-TV

Last week, students from Sonnesyn Elementary showed off their yoga skills to KSTP-TV Anchor Jessica Miles. Thanks to a grant from the Seven Dreams Education Foundation, about 60 students at Sonnesyn are already receiving yoga instruction through the program Yoga Calm. Yoga coordinator and school Social Worker Greg Sicheneder said the grant will allow more teachers to be trained so more students can benefit from yoga participation. Watch our Facebook and Twitter pages to find out when the story will run on KSTP-TV.
