Snow Day on March 5
Robbinsdale Area Schools, like so many schools in the metro area, closed on Tuesday, Mar. 5 due to the snow. The decision to close is never an easy one, but the district will make the decision as early as possible. The district's procedures for public notification are as follows: 1. We notify the four major news channels (KARE-11, KMSP Fox 9, KSTP Channel 5, and WCCO Channel 4); 2. We post on all schools' and the district websites; 3. We post on Facebook; and 4. We send an automated email notification to all families. Please be sure that you have provided the district with your current email address. Due to a wide variance of school start times, the district has elected not to send voicemail notification when the district closes schools due to inclement weather. Be sure to check the news, the website, and your email!

A Note About the District Facebook Page
Since starting the Robbinsdale Area Schools Facebook page, we've noticed a fantastic community of fans that regularly engage with our content. Unfortunately, Facebook changed its algorithm
for what posts a user sees in their News Feed and we've noticed that not many people are seeing posts and photos. In order to see the district's posts and photos in your News Feed more frequently, you must like, comment and share more frequently. Facebook "predicts" what you want to see in your News Feed and if you've shown interest in a Page, Facebook will show you this content more often. And, if you haven't already
"liked" us on Facebook
and
"followed" us on Twitter, now is a great time to stay updated on the latest news and information in the district.

Kody's Closet Debuted at Armstrong High School
On March 1, a new non-profit organization debuted its services at Armstrong High School. Kody's Closet provides essential hygiene products to students who would otherwise go without them. After Armstrong graduate Kody Thorn passed away in November 2012, Kody's mother Colleen started a non-profit to ensure his kind spirit would live on. As an extreme couponer, Colleen purchased toothpaste, deodorant and other products in bulk. After Kody's passing, Colleen wanted these products, and more in the future, to benefit those who don't have the resources to obtain hygienic products.
