Northport Elementary Begins Power Mondays
Northport Elementary has a new initiative: Power Mondays, which is a program for boys in grades 3-5. Every month, speakers will visit Northport to provide boys with positive role models and great messages about the power of education, getting students off to a good start for the week. The first Power Monday was Jan. 7th and the boys loved it! The speaker was B. Wright - you may not know his face, but his voice is familiar, as he is the voice announcer of the Minnesota Timberwolves and the Minnesota Lynx! If you know of anyone who would be great for the Power Monday lineup, please call Principal Leona Derden at x7801 or email her at leona_derden@rdale.org.

Art is Primary! Exhibit a Great Success
Art is Primary! spanned ten days in December and showcased artwork from the grade 3-5 art curriculum in the district at the Robbin Gallery. 150 student creations represented all ten elementary schools, and the Sun Post and Channel 12 headlined the new exhibit. The turnout at the first-time art exhibit was a tremendous success, and the district would like to recognize and thank Robbin Gallery for their generosity in creating such a wonderful event. Congratulations to all students with work represented.
