Ten volunteer professionals convened on August 6th & 7th in Denver for a Summit surrounding "The Art and Science of Volunteer Engagement." The gathering, comprised of an evening networking event and day of programming was designed to promote networking and professional development; educating, inspiring and enhancing the success of volunteers. Guest speakers included Beth Steinhorn, President of JFFixler Group and Melinda Wilkes, Director of Volunteer Engagement at JFS San Diego both of whom discussed topics surrounding how to position one's self as an organizational leader and promote volunteerism across the organization in addition to engaging agency staff with volunteers, volunteer trends, using technology to improve the field and turning volunteers into donors. Advocacy Updates: Legislative News from the Hill
HIAS, along with interfaith and refugee advocacy partners, are collecting signatures for a faith leader affirmation on welcoming refugees. Please help circulate to Jewish clergy, community leaders, organizational leadership prior to August 31st.
