2015 AJFCA Midwest Older Adult Services Meeting
August 30th & 31st 2015

Senior Service professionals are invited to attend AJFCA's Midwest Older Adult Services
 Meeting on August 30th & 31st at Jewish Family Service of Metropolitan Detroit to share their expertise and network with other AJFCA members in the region.

REGISTRATION
The registration fee for the Midwest Older Adult Services Meeting is $95 and includes an evening of networking and appetizers on Sunday, lunch and snacks on Monday, programming and up to 6.75 continuing education credits*. Kosher-style food will be available on Sunday evening and kosher food will be served for lunch and snacks on Monday. Please limit registration to 3 attendees per agency. Registration will close on Monday, August 17th.

Space is limited and registration will open up to non-Midwest agencies July 1st, 2015, so don't wait to register!

HOTEL

A block of hotel rooms have been secured at the Fairfield  Inn & Suites Detroit Farmington Hills for the evening of Sunday, August 30th. Book your room by calling (248) 442-9800 and using the group code AJFCA. The room rate is $118/night (2 queens or 1 king bed). The cut off date is July 29th. The hotel offers free parking to all registered guests. Shuttles will be provided to and from the hotel for the Sunday Evening networking event and day of programmimg at JFS Detroit. 

 

CEUs
Up to 6.75 continuing education credits for social workers will be available through NASW. 
Please be aware that the following states (New York, Michigan, West Virginia) do not accept National CE Approval Programs and require individual program/provider application processes. The following states (New Jersey, Idaho, Oregon) currently do not recognize NASW National Approval. Applications can be submitted to NASW State Chapters. AJFCA is in the process of looking into becoming licensed through other associations.

PROGRAMMING
Programming for the meeting is still in development and is set to incorporate a range of topics including discussions on emerging trends in aging services, subsets of the aging population, psychotherapy and counseling, supporting Russian-speaking staff and communities, and Holocaust survivor services. AJFCA is seeking additional expertise in geriatric care management (focus on tools for practice, outcomes and finances), aging in place best practices and models, and community collaborations.
