Know Before You Go

We're looking forward to seeing you in Miami for what is sure to be an interactive and informative experience, as we focus on leveraging the collective impact of our network, with an eye toward building resilience.

Below please find some tips to know before you go!
Housekeeping
  • Download the 2015 Mobile App before the Annual Conference. Click here for instructions. Note:  Have your AppleID and password handy. If you downloaded last year's app you can access this year's app via the menu.
  • Please plan to visit Registration on the Conference Floor - Overture I Foyer prior to attending any conference related functions, as it is required that you wear your badge at all times. Consult the mobile app for registration times.
  • To access the Conference Floor you must exit the guest room elevators and walk to the elevators situated parallel to the registration desk.
  • A special parking rate has been arranged for local Floridians and those renting cars. Please visit registration to obtain a voucher. Valet parking:  $15, Self parking:  $12. Note:  It is advised that if you plan to visit the hotel more than once in a day that you opt for valet parking.
  • Suggested conference attire is business casual. (Hotels do tend to crank up the air conditioning, especially in Miami.)
  • New this year, AJFCA will be offering a complimentary gentle yoga class and walking group each morning. Consult the mobile app for times.
  • Religious services will be offered each morning as well.
  • Continuing education credits are being offered at most sessions. See the session chair to sign in and obtain an evaluation form, which are also available on the AJFCA website and mobile app.

Sunday Grab 'n Go Breakfast

  • Breakfast will be served buffet style on the conference floor. Plan to grab your breakfast and take it with you into the pre-plenary session you are attending. 

Sunday Plenary Lunch

  • Sunday Plenary Lunch guest speaker, Eva Kor, will be selling and signing books after her presentation. Plan to purchase your book in advance or bring your wallet. Please find a list of books here.

Sunday Host Community Event - Jungle Island 

  • Attire for the Sunday evening Host Community Event at Jungle Island is Caribbean chic and at the conclusion of the event, buses will be available to transport attendees either to South Beach (one way) or back to the hotel.

Monday

  • Optional Monday lunches require pre-registration. Plan to sign in upon entering the lunch. If you have not already registered, please contact Zahava to do so. Luncheon details can be found here.
  • There are no scheduled events on Monday evening. Enjoy Miami!

Tuesday 

  • The Closing Plenary is scheduled to end at noon. If you plan to check out on Tuesday you may want to bring your bag(s) to the Closing Plenary.
