Dear AJFCA Members:
The link below will take you to a listing (regularly updated by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services) of calls regarding each state's respective Affordable Care Act rollout activities. As you are aware, many states are grappling with whether or not they will expand their Medicaid programs or whether or not they will even establish State Health Insurance Exchanges. These calls, sponsored by the Department of Health and Human Services' Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), seek to explain how each state's action (or lack of action) will impact health care coverage for its respective population. These Open Door Forums represent a constructive educational opportunity for you and your partner agencies as well.
The following is the CMS synopsis for these calls and a link that will take you to the schedule.
Health Insurance Marketplace Stakeholder Engagement Open Door Forums CMS has regular stakeholder engagement on the new Health Insurance Marketplace. The next round of quarterly calls will begin the week of July 29, 2013 in each state with a Federally-facilitated (FFM) or State Partnership Marketplace (SPM). Individuals and organizations that will interact with and utilize the Marketplace are encouraged to join these calls. We (CMS) will provide an update on the implementation of the Marketplace and listen to feedback as we continue to develop and refine the Marketplace.
Below you will find information about upcoming Health Insurance Marketplace State-by-State stakeholder engagement calls, related resources as they become available, and RSVP information. For detailed background on the purpose of these calls, please visit the Center for Consumer Information and Insurance Oversight (CCIIO).
