Good evening. So far the hurricane season has been uneventful and we hope it stays that way; but it only takes one tropical system to make for a bad day (or months or years). I hope that you and your family has updated your plans and have a minimum of 96 hours worth of supplies.

In August, the Lealman Fire District will be hosting TWO National Night Out events. Both events will be identical but the first event will be held in Tierra Verde on Tuesday, August 18th and the second event is Thursday, August 20th at Fire Station #18 in Lealman. Please see the flyer below and consider helping us out on one or both nights.

We will be starting our last round of Next Step Courses this coming Monday night. Monday's Next Step is Communications.

We have a lot of things happening including planning the #LEAPN2CERT Conference, implementation of Mission Manager across the Tampa Bay Region, designing the remaining two CERT Advanced Training Sessions this year and much more.

I hope to see you soon. If you have any ideas to help motivate our CERT program in 2016, please drop me an email or call me. We are really want your input!

Respectfully,

K. Larry Thompson, Captain

#LEAPN2CERT
We are currently in the planning process for a CERT Conference at the Florida Elks Youth Camp in Umatilla, Florida on February 25th through the 28th 2016. This event will take a lot of effort and we need members to help organize and manage aspects of this project. As it is shaping up, we will be offering three tracks with seven breakout sessions for a total of 21 unique courses. In addition, we will provide several "social" opportunities and an exercise (possibly a CERT Olympics) on the Saturday afternoon.

Please save the date and if you are interested in helping to organize this conference, please email me.
