Atlantic Aviation to Offer Reduced Fuel Prices

Atlantic Aviation will be offering reduced fuel prices for all aircraft that use avgas/100LL fuel, starting December 3. Customers based at Waukesha County Airport will be able to buy avgas at a price comparable to self-service fuel rates in the area, if they taxi to Atlantic fuel trucks for service. Customers who request service at their hangar will be able to purchase 100LL/avgas at newly reduced retail prices, which are more competitive with other General Aviation airports in the area.

New Fuel Prices December 3:

Discounted self-service comparable price (based aircraft truck-side only): $4.67/gallon

Retail price for 100LL/avgas: $5.34/gallon

The new fuel prices are available 24 hours a day. Please note that a service charge of $15 will apply for uplifts of less than 20 gallons that are delivered anywhere other than the main ramp for both tenants and transient aircraft.  We encourage you to plan ahead to ensure you are taking full advantage of the new, lower prices!

Atlantic Aviation General Manager Ray Dalman advises that future fuel price fluctuations are expected to remain aligned with the new pricing structure.
Coffee Talk on Saturday
If you're looking for somewhere to hide from the madness of this weekend's "opening weekend" for holiday shopping, consider joining the Waukesha Aviation Club for Coffee Talk!  Be there at 8:00 am on Saturday, November 30 for coffee, doughnuts and aviation chatter in the airport terminal conference room.

Greetings!

As we prepare for Thanksgiving this week, I want to thank you, our customers, tenants and aviation enthusiasts, for your continued support of Waukesha County Airport.  It is truly a pleasure to serve you and the wonderful aviation community that we all enjoy today.

In this special Thanksgiving edition of our newsletter, we are excited to announce new, reduced fuel prices from Atlantic Aviation, which we trust you will find much more competitive with other General Aviation airports in the area. We are also taking this opportunity to clarify our new security key pad policy, and to remind you of the need for your snow plow providers to contact Matt Grenoble for a security briefing and badge before they start working on snow removal for you this season.

As always, if you have a story to share, we welcome your contributions.  Just send the information to airport management

We wish you and your families a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday!

Fly safe,

Kurt

Clarification of Revised Security Policy on Key Pads

In our October newsletter, we announced a new badge policy due to a number of security incidents with some codes that were being used inappropriately. Additionally, we instituted a 2 year renewal process to assist us in keeping contact information current and our system free of unused badges and inactive user profiles. The recurrent process also allows us to pass on new airfield information and changes in operations.

As we noted in that article, if you already have a code, it will remain valid.  The only codes that have been, or will be, deactivated are those that have become "commonly known" or have caused a security incident or an airfield incursion.  However, we are no longer issuing new key pad codes.

Please remember that if you have a numeric code for the gate key pads, it is for your personal use only and is not to be given out to anyone else for access to the airfield. If you are holding a special event at your hangar we are able to issue one time access codes. Please contact our office for more information.

Badges are available to anyone requiring regular access inside the airfield perimeter fence. New badges are $20 and replacement of a damaged badge is $10. To obtain a new or renew an existing badge, please contact our office to set up an appointment to take the recurrent training. We are available Monday through Friday 8am to 4pm. You can learn more about the security training on our website and review the safety briefing that is posted.

We will notify individuals at least 6 weeks before their badge expires. Thank you for your patience and cooperation as we improve the safety and security of your airport.

Reminder on Snow Plow Service
Bilzzard of 2011 As we noted in the October newsletter, if you own a hangar and use an outside vendor for snow removal, they must contact us prior to pushing snow. We have had several problems in the past with snow removal firms piling snow in areas that impacted the movement of aircraft and caused other problems. In order to prevent these issues, we need to relay safety and operational information directly to your snow removal contractor.

Please have them contact Matt Grenoble at their earliest convenience at (262)521-5250 or  mgrenoble@waukeshacounty.gov for a safety and operational briefing, as well as to obtain a security badge to gain access to your hangar area.
The Waukesha County Airport/Crites Field Newsletter is intended to inform airport tenants, visitors and other interested individuals about the latest events, news and services available to them at the airport.  If you would like to see a topic featured in the next newsletter, please contact Kurt Stanich, Airport Manager, at kstanich@waukeshacounty.gov or call 262-521-5250.
