Greetings!
Next week is the big Wings over Waukesha Air Show on August 25 and 26 and we're expecting 20,000 people. Will you be there? We welcome and encourage everyone on the field to bring out your airplane to display and/or fly it - this is for the whole airport community to enjoy, so don't miss the opportunity to be a part of it!
If you taxi your aircraft over, admission is free! We would love to see EVERYONE out with your families enjoying the show! On Saturday and Sunday we would like to showcase your airplanes in the skies over the airshow! If you are interested in flying in the showcase at 11:00am either day, please email airshow@wingsoverwaukesha.com for briefing times and details.
The airspace will be closed for the aerobatic potions of the airshow at the following times:
- Friday, August 24. 12 - 2 p.m.
- Saturday and Sunday, August 25 and 26, 1 to 4 p.m.
On a separate note, you may have noticed that Keith Markano hasn't been around lately. He left the airport a few weeks ago, and I have been named Interim Airport Manager during the transition. If you have any questions or need assistance with anything airport related, please don't hesitate to contact me, as always.
Fly Safe,
Kurt Stanich Interim Airport Manager

"Mix, Mingle and Fly" with Waukesha County Business Allliance (WCBA)
The Waukesha County Airport is hosting another "Networking After 5" event with the Waukesha County Business Alliance on Tuesday, August 21, 2012 from 5 - 7 p.m.
We encourage you to attend if you are a business person who would like to network with other professionals and tell them about the airport and your experience flying for recreation or business. Of course, our charter aircraft companies, flight schools and other airport-based businesses are also highly encouraged to attend and tell the participants about your services. Last year's event was attended by more than 140 people.
The B-17 "Aluminum Overcast" is one of several aircraft that will be here on display, just ahead of the Wings over Waukesha Air Show. Hors d'oeuvres, beverages and B-17 ground tours will be part of the fun. To attend, you will need to register for $15 at the WCBA website. |
