All right, both the Republican and Democratic National Presidential Conventions are over. We know who the nominees and their vice president running mates are. In the months drawing up to the November 8th election we will be bombarded from both sides with reasons why one side or the other is best for the USA. Right now it is August and hot. Our renowned New Jersey mosquitoes and humidity are driving us to drink, as in hydrate. So let's take a deep breath and a brief time out with a little story about a Dog Ad in the newspaper. The ad reads:

This is Lexi. She's an 8-week old German Shepherd. I bought Lexi as a surprise for my wife but it turns out she is allergic to dogs so we're looking to find her a new home. She is 59 years old, a beautiful caring woman who drives, is a great cook and keeps a good house.

How Slip Corners work...

Slip corners were developed to allow a contractor to strip an entire pad assembly in one piece.

The top of the corners have reinforced lifting lugs.

When forms are bolted to the tapered corner, it automatically places the forms on a slight batter.

Because the forms are battered, they free themselves as they are lifted.

Slip corners are 3' tall. You can either lay forms horizontally or stand 3' forms up vertically.

SAFETY TIP OF THE MONTH:

How to recognize and treat heat exhaustion.

Signs of heat exhaustion include a pale or flushed appearance, the person may be sweaty with moist, clammy skin and may feel weak, dizzy, nauseous and have a headache.

To treat heat exhaustion, act quickly and:

Move the person immediately to a cool place.
Loosen their clothing and place a cool compress on the skin
Have the person slowly drink large quantities of water or other fluids.
Elevate their feet slightly.
