Last week a friend told me that his son, a Lieutenant Colonel in the Army and a career soldier for the last 26 years, was notified that he was being mustered out of the service. He is part of a 30% reduction of similar officers. We are now at levels of defense beneath those prior to World War Two. Lately we opened up relations with Cuba but did nothing about getting Joanne Chesinard, the fugitive cop-killer back. Our president is doing the same thing with Viet Nam while there are still purported to be American POW's there. The New York Times published a story on how Ben Rhodes, Obama's Foreign Policy Fabricator-In-Chief made up the justification for our entering into the Iranian Nuclear Arms deal. Islamic terrorists confined to prison in Guantanamo Bay are being let go to return to what they do best, terrorize. In this country, by Executive Order, thousands of illegal aliens who were incarcerated for crimes they committed are being released back into the general population. It is mind numbing and chilling! Now we have been force-fed a dictum requiring that people who ide  ntify with a gender other than the genitalia they were born with be allowed into that sex's restrooms, locker rooms, showers, you name it. We have a solution in search of a problem! Where might this lead? Nowhere good. Witness this prediction in an article that came from the The Washington Times. Consenting adults, we were told, should be able to commit to anyone they want. More recently, transgender has been forced upon society as the new normal. Not only men dressing as women, but men and women slicing off body parts and crafting ne w genitalia, all in the name of how an individual "feels" about his or her gender. What God created be damned. Normal, we're told. In fact, Barack Obama believes you and I should pay for it as a regular coverage in Obamacare insurance requirements. Virile teenage boys curious about the girls' showers? They need only declare they are feeling feminine and in Barack Obama's world, they can waltz into the girl's school locker room and soap up right next to your daughter. That's normal the president says. So what could possibly be next? What is the next normal? Pedophilia. That is from Mr. Constantine, not your bewildered Editor. Impossible you say? That is what I would have cried out once upon a time. Now I am no longer so sure. We are being pushed down a very slippery slope, a direction completely contrary to the values and moral compass that I embrace along with so many others. According to a very recent Rasmussen Poll, only 27% of likely U.S. voters think America is on the right track. That means most of us do not. Where do you stand? SAFETY TIP OF THE MONTH
 Did you know that the headrest of a car seat is deliberately kept detachable and sharp so that it could be used to break open the glass of a car window in case of a fire or emergency? The car's glass is made to be breakable from inside.This appeared on the internet so it must be true! Since I am naturally a skeptic, I researched Snopes.com for a veracity check. There I read, " While it is possible to break a car window with a removable headrest, this is an incidental application of that object rather than a deliberate one. The primary intended function of the modern car headrest was to prevent whiplash in case of accident.... Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard 202 does not require automakers to manufacture head restraints specifically so that they can be used to break windows in emergencies. While some can potentially be used that way, they are not designed with that specific purpose in mind." So, if you are caught inside a burning car or one that is underwater, remember that your headrest is good for more than preventing whiplash.
