March comes in like a lion and goes out like a lamb, or so they say, whoever "they" is. And now "they" takes on a politically correct usage. According to the New York Times and other luminaries, using "they" is gender neutral, and appropriate as in "'They' and I went to the store," where "they" is used for a person who does not identify as male or female, or "they" is a filler pronoun in a situation where a person's gender identity is unknown." Call me out of touch but I am having trouble with this "they" thing! I liked "Whosis" and I went to the store, or like Archie Bunker often said, "Meathead" and I went to the store. I suppose that identifying a person's gender is profiling too. This crap is going to be the end of us ---- or should I say "they"? Moving right along, by the time you read this, the Presidential Primaries on Super Tuesday, March 1 , 2016, will have become part of the 2016 Presidential Primary history. Democrats and Republicans in Alabama, Arkansas, Colorado, Georgia, Massachusetts, Minnesota, Oklahoma, Ten nessee, Texas, Vermont and Virginia will have made their choices known. Republicans participated in the Alaska, North Dakota and Wyoming caucuses and Democrats had their say in the American Samoa caucus (although how much difference that made, who knows?). What bothers me about all of this is how little we know of how the candidates stand on the issues. Instead we have seen and heard name calling, suggestions from all that everyone else but them (they?) is a liar, a Canadian, has tax issues or is not a Christian or is inconsistent or unreliable or whatever. Stop the sniveling! Man up! Focus!
It is still a long ways to November, keep your ears open and try to separate the truth from the BS, then decide who is worthy of your vote. No one says it will be easy. How often have you heard,"If their lips are moving, they are lying."?
