Last week I saw a bumper sticker that caught my eye. It said "COMPOST HAPPENS". That got me to thinking. In the Gamka newsletter editorial for May, I said I needed answers to these questions:
* Why are there no consequences when politicians do wrong?
* Have you ever seen so much talk and no action?
* Who is minding the store?
* What happened to the Moral Compass concept?
* Didn't our nation start over taxation without representation?
* When did God go out of fashion?
As might be expected, no one was able to help out. Since then more issues have come up that are puzzling me even more, such as:
* Whose country is it?
* Since when did Capitalism become a bad thing?
* Has the Separation of Powers all but disappeared?
* When did illegal become legal?
* What has become of the Melting Pot?
* Why must Political Correctness replace common sense?
* If only congress can pass laws what are all these new regulations from agency bureaucrats?
* ¿Dónde está inglés?
* What was the problem with Work Fare?
* How many more children can we take in?
* Don't we have a Constitution anymore?
* Is there something wrong with doing the right thing?
But I think I have figured it out now. The most beautiful bouquet of flowers will wither and decay without water; fresh milk will eventually turn sour if not refrigerated; ripe fruit will inevitably rot unless consumed; bread will grow moldy if not eaten; nothing lasts forever. If we don't add water to the vase, keep the milk cold, make jam out of the fruit and put it on the bread you know what the result be---- COMPOST HAPPENS! Hopefully not on our watch. It is our United States of America to save for future generations. We must do so.
