What's in a name?
Juliet famously asked this of Romeo in Shakespeare's classic romance. Four hundred-plus years later, as I sit down to compose my article, while debating with my wife on a name for our third child, I find myself asking the same question.
Of course, I'm speaking about LAN, or more specifically, our official name - LAN Associates, Engineering, Planning, Architecture, Surveying, Inc. It's a name so long that we often shorten it to something like LAN Associates EPAS, or LAN Associates, or just LAN. [...]

LAN Designs New Learning Center for Ridgewood High School

LAN Helps Restore Stained Glass Courthouse Dome

LAN was contracted by the County of Passaic to design restoration and repairs on the interior and exterior of the Courthouse Complex in Paterson, NJ. The complex consists of four buildings constructed at various times and of differing architectural styles. One of the restorations involved an interior stained glass dome at the District Courthouse built circa 1890. The interior dome consists of sixteen sections with seven rings. [...]

Remote Monitoring of Boilers Helps Newark Housing Authority Save Money
 LAN has been instrumental in assisting the Newark Housing Authority in obtaining Exception 6 under NJSA34:7-1-6 for gas fired steam low pressure boilers and associated equipment at thirteen sites. The main objective of this project was to eliminate the need for licensed operating engineers at the 13 sites on a twenty-four hour basis. Mr. Kenneth H. Karle, AIA, PE, PP, president of LAN recently assisted in leading a half-day seminar at Rutgers, entitiled 'Public Works Construction Bids for School Districts.' The class was designed for public school officials to familiarize themselves with the major aspects of a public works construction project.
