New Year - New Website
| With the start of the new year, we want to wish everyone a Happy New Year and welcome you to our updated United Way website. Though we were the very first United Way in the state to have a website, we were in need of some modernization. Thanks to the generous support of the Raymond P. Lavietes Foundation, we have a completely new look, and we invite you to visit and provide feedback. The address is the same as always valleyunitedway.org. |
Howe Avenue Fire Response
|
|
|
By now, you have read all about the terrible fire in Shelton last week and the incredible job done by Echo Hose and the other first responders who literally saved the lives of so many people on a frigid winter night. All 28 people living in the building survived the ordeal thanks to the courage and skill of all the firefighters and other emergency personnel.
Echo Hose has gone over and above their duty by continuing to support those who have lost their homes. Many other individuals and groups have joined the effort including United Way. Click here to learn more about the effort and ways to help.

The Valley United Way Youth Leadership Program has decided to address the following areas of critical concern that are affecting youth today for this year's grants: road/driving rules, texting and driving, bullying, dating violence, after school youth programs and social media.

Our good friends from Webster Bank will be on hand on January 21 at 5:30 at Valley United Way to conduct a Fraud Awareness & Prevention Seminar. The seminar is free, but you should register in advance by clicking here.
ion BANK will be next up on February 4, and we'll have information available on our website later this week. Newtown Savings Bank is one of the sponsors for the programs. Learn more about the entire series here.
